Wood drying is one of the essential steps in the sawmill processes and is one of the biggest electricity consumption sources. Ventilation systems used for drying are exceptionally suited to participation in sustainable balancing of the grid(Frequency Containment Reserve, FCR-N). By temporarily turning up and down the ventilation power following the frequency fluctuations, extra revenues are generated without affecting the core process of drying. At the same time, significant savings can be realized and additional revenues can be realized by combining different services such as FCR-D.
